Soap Cozy

So rather than follow a pattern I decided to be creative and make my own that has the best of all worlds that fits perfectly over a dial bar of soap.  I casted on 24 stitches and used double pointed needles so I wouldn't have to sew anything up at the end. I crocheted the ends after putting the soap bar in. Here's a better overview of the pattern.

CO 24 St. Divide onto 3 dbl pt needles (8 on each one) work in the round doing 1 by 1 ribbing for two or three rows
First needle Knit, Second needle purl, Third Needle keep the 1 by 1 ribbing going.  continue this patern till it fits the bar of soap. finish with 2 more rows of 1 by 1 ribbing and Binding off in 1 by 1 ribbing.
Put your soap in the cozy crochet the ends. Vwaaalaa you now have a hand made soap cozy. Enjoy!

New found hat brim

Remrmbered one more thing I wanted to post. I learned a new way to make a really warm hat brim and possibly a whole hat. I'll have to do some more experimenting before I go that far. I do really like it though. Rather than just knitting 10 or so rows and calling it good or maybe design the hat to be folded up to get more warmth. This new found design does that for you so the part designed to keep your ears warm will do just that. Here's how. Cast on however many the hat calls for. Knit at least 10 rows of stockinet stitch (I think I did 12) purl one row, then knit one more row than knitted before. (in my case I did 13) then you will pick up the stitches from the cast on edge one at a time knitting the picked up stitch together with a live stitch (one that is on your needle)  I enjoyed the method. I did my first one on double point needle and it was a pain, but it looks cool.

Anyway that should be all.=]

Christmas projects

soooo still knitting! of course! Christmas presents are almost done!!!! woot woot! Ravelry.com has been my BFF this year. I'm not sure how I would have found the patterns that I did. Anyway, for Mom I made some very sophisticated hand warmers. I will have to post pictures of them later because I have already wrapped them.....for dad I made him a cowl at his requests last year about a month and a half past Christmas...just finished it like last week haha not that the pattern was complicated or hard, just didn't really need to get it done till now haha... I also knitted my sister a hat. This one I am most proud of one because she has no idea it is for her and she even gave me tips on how to make it "even cuter" and two it's totally her style of hat. I'm pumped!!!

I still need to put some flowers on it, but that is the hat. The pattern I used is called a wurm. here's the link to it.http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wurm
It was a fun hat to knit, the brim took forever...almost as long as the body of the hat. I'm just happy it turned out looking like the pictures, and my picture is courtesy  of photo booth on my laptop. =]

Let see what other projects do i have going. I started another wurm for my mother-in-law. I hope she likes it. Oh i made a nice hat for my brother-in-law, now i just have to decide on what to give my sis-in-law....she is a fellow pink lover so it's hard. I also knitted a hat for my new niece born on 11-11-11!  I just got pictures in the mail today of her. She's so cute!!!!
That's Christmas.

The hat that was in my last post I gave to my cousin it was his birthday right around the time that I finished it and it had his favorite colors in it.  He seemed to like it.

Anyway I know there's more that I want to write, i'm just not thinking of it right now so....

Until Next Time!
